Pape-Dawson Engineers is pleased to announce the promotion of Valerie Collins, AICP to Associate Vice President. In her role, Ms. Collins will continue to develop and lead statewide environmental projects.
Ms. Collins joined Pape-Dawson in 2008 and now has more than 20 years of experience studying endangered species and managing environmental permitting and compliance for infrastructure projects throughout Texas.
Her experience includes facilitating approval of NEPA documents and coordinating agency approvals for numerous infrastructure projects. She has led efforts to obtain on-call environmental services contracts for local governments and utility companies. State Highway 211 Environmental Assessment, Williamson County Parks and Recreation – Brushy Creek Regional Trail, and the Vista Ridge Water Supply project are just a few of Ms. Collin’s latest projects. She also played a role in the Pape-Dawson team’s recent Riverbend Water Resources District Program Management contract win.
“Valerie’s background and technical experience in her field offer beneficial experience to the environmental team,” Pape-Dawson Executive Vice President, Rick Wood, P.E. said. “Her proven ability to effectively manage environmental projects makes her an asset to Pape-Dawson and the clients we serve.”
Currently, Ms. Collins serves on the executive board of Opera San Antonio, serves on the Science Committee for the San Antonio Zoo Board of Directors, and is an active member of the American Planning Association. Ms. Collins earned a Master and Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University. She received certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners in 2015.
